The president and founder of Florida Premier Sports, Gaspar Palmer, has been appointed area director for Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties. This will allow us to create more opportunities for "More Kids Playing More Baseball" in the South. Gaspar's goal in the South "is to make FPS the best league to play baseball and to grow USSSA in this market." We would like to see everyone become part of the USSSA family. That can be achieved by working together, something they have done with this league in South Florida.

Gaspar and FPS would like to thank a number of coaches for making their league possible. A special thanks to Taso Metallides, Jose Jimmenez, Jim Murray, John Valeo, Scott Kleinman, Steve DeMatties, and Alex Fernandez. Also, a special thanks to many local organizations. The Rattlers, Hawks, Pembroke Lakes, West Pines, Pines Optimist and the individual that has given all to the league - President Tom Clemshaw of Miramar Optimist.

The league is getting ready to start the 2007 Spring season and would like to invite you to their Manager's meeting scheduled for Sunday, January 21 at 5:00pm at Grand Palms Golf and Country Club.

Florida USSSA Baseball & Florida Travel Ball will kick- off the season with great competition at the 1st Annual Martin Luther King, Jr Memorial Day Classic in Leesburg, Florida starting Friday, January 12, 2007. This will be Florida USSSA Baseball's first four(4) game guaranteed event of the year.

George and I are pround to annouce that Golden Glove Sports, under the direction Bertram Holloway, will be the primary provider for USSSA Baseball events in Jacksonville, Florida. Bertram will continue to be tournament support for our events in the Central Florida area; however, his primary focus will be to assist George and I in hosting a number of events in Jacksonville with the exception of the state tournament we have scheduled in late June.

I am directly responsible for any USSSA Baseball operations in Jacksonville under the supervision of the North Florida state director, Eric Irvin.
